Sprite, the Therapy Dog

The newest employee of Alpha-Dog Pet Center, “Sprite” Ingersoll is an 11 lb. Italian Greyhound, who was rescued as a puppy by Chip in January 2015, at the age of approximately 3-months-old. Sprite currently serves as Alpha-Dog Pet Center’s “Sales Floor Supervisor” and can often be found on her “perch” back behind the cash register, ensuring that things run smoothly behind the counter!!! Sprite completed basic obedience classes, and was awarded her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Title in July 2015. Sprite is a Certified Therapy Dog, having been trained and certified in September 2015. She is also R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog)-certified to work with school age students at schools and libraries. Outside of her Supervisory duties with Alpha-Dog, Sprite volunteers time at local hospitals, nursing homes, and schools as a Therapy Dog and R.E.A.D. Dog for the benefit of others. Currently, Sprite attends an elementary school in Amherst one afternoon each week, to work with 3rd and 4th grade students in several classrooms. Sprite loves her job, and loves people. She can’t wait to see you when you stop in!!!
