Bella, the Therapy Dog

Isabella (“Bella”) Ingersoll is a 50 lb. Pitbull/Boxer-Mix, who was rescued by Chip in 2014, at the age of approximately 18-months-old. Bella currently serves as Alpha-Dog Pet Center’s “Customer Service Supervisor” and “Security/Loss-Prevention Specialist”. Don’t let that title fool you… She’s a big pussycat!!! Bella completed basic obedience classes, and was awarded her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Title in April 2014, and her Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) Title, also called the AKC Community Canine, later in 2014. Bella is a Certified Therapy Dog, having been trained and certified in September 2014. She is also R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog)-certified to work with school age students at schools and libraries. Outside of her Customer Service duties with Alpha-Dog, Bella volunteers time at local hospitals, nursing homes, and schools as a Therapy Dog and R.E.A.D. Dog for the benefit of others. Currently, Bella attends an elementary school in Amherst one afternoon each week, to work with 3rd and 4th grade students in several classrooms. Bella also serves as Alpha-Dog Pet Center’s representative to the Main Street Amherst organization. Bella loves her job, and loves people. She can’t wait to see you when you stop in!!!
